Sister District San Francisco is part of Sister District Project, a grassroots-based, national political nonprofit that launched in the wake of the 2016 elections.

Sister District Project has over 40,000 volunteers in 74 chapters across the country, including over 2,000 here at Sister District SF. Nationally, Sister District Project volunteers have raised more than a $1.1 million in small-dollar cash donations for state legislative candidates, mailed 313,000 postcards, sent 460,000 text messages, made 242,000 phone calls, and knocked on 78,000 doors.

Partnerships at the national and local level include Emily's List, Indivisible, Swing Left, Flippable, One Vote at a Time, Adopt-a- State, MarchOn, Together We Will, Solidarity Sundays, and countless other progressive organizations and local community groups.

Sister District Project is proud to be an organization founded and led by women, including women of color. Four out of five of the organization’s founders left their jobs to dedicate 100% of their time to Sister District to ensure that all Americans have equal representation in a government that works for all of its citizens, not just the minority in power.
